La Estrategia Nacional de Gestión Cinegética en España y la labor científica del Instituto para la Investigación de los Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC) subrayan la importancia de una caza regulada para el equilibrio de los ecosistemas. Se promueve el enfoque “One Health”, que vincula la salud de los animales silvestres, el ganado y los seres humanos mediante una gestión coordinada. Se estudia en profundidad la regulación de la Peste Porcina Africana (PPA) de reciente relevancia en nuestro país. Además, se presentan avances en investigación aplicada, como el desarrollo de vacunas y sistemas de monitoreo avanzados para mitigar conflictos entre la actividad humana y la biodiversidad.
The National Hunting Management Strategy in Spain and the scientific work of the Institute for the Research of Hunting Resources (IREC) underscore the importance of regulated hunting for the balance of ecosystems. The “One Health” approach is promoted, linking the health of wildlife, livestock, and humans through coordinated management. The regulation of African Swine Fever (ASF), a recent concern in Spain, is examined in depth. Furthermore, advances in applied research are presented, such as the development of vaccines and advanced monitoring systems to mitigate conflicts between human activity and biodiversity.
