This article shows the relevance of the presidential and the Congress elections, which will be held in Chile on 2017 on the development of the political communication system of this country. The author argues from structural, circumstantial factors and examples that are unprecedented for the Chilean political system, implemented since the end of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. It concludes, that from these variables, the elections may be more competitive and that they will allow new movements and political parties to integrate the political game. This may facilitate the development of new scenarios for the political communication and for the market for political advisers in the country. Both aspects are less developed in Chile, when compared to other similar countries of the region.
