El modelo cooperativo del Norte parece estar mucho más orientado al mercado y presenta una gran flexibilidad. Por el contrario, en los países mediterráneos está todavía muy centrado en la producción y en unas empresas que juegan un importante papel en las zonas donde están emplazadas, y en algunos casos con fuertes implicaciones políticas que imponen criterios alejados de la necesaria orientación al mercado. Resulta muy interesante comparar estos dos modelos de desarrollo y de empresa cooperativa. Si bien ambos parten de la misma necesidad y objetivo, las formas de evolucionar y de responder a los retos que plantea el mercado actual han sido muy dispares.
The Northern agri-food cooperative model seems much more market-oriented and has a great flexibility. By contrast, the Mediterranean countries model still focuses on the production and in some companies that are playing an important role in areas they are located.
