Se investigó el patrón sexual de los indígenas kurripakos de Venezuela. Para ello, se administró una entrevista estandarizada a una muestra (n = 33) de ambos sexos (varones, 19; mujeres, 14) y de 25 o más años de edad, cuyos integrantes fueron seleccionados de manera incidental en asentamientos/ poblados del estado Amazonas (Venezuela). Los resultados indican que: a) todos muestran conformidad con su sexo y son heterosexuales; b) utilizan preferentemente la vista (69.7%) y combinación de vista-tacto (66.7) para activarse sexualmente; c) sólo un 54.5% y un 36.4% emplea las fantasías sexuales y se las comunica a su pareja, respectivamente; d) todos prefieren la posición coital "mujer abajo" (misionero);
e) la frecuencia sexual más común es de 5- 9 días (48.5%), seguida por la de 10-14 días (27.3%);
SEXUAL PATTERN OF KURRIPAKO ETHNIC GROUP FROM VENEZUELA The sexual pattern of the Kurripako ethnic group from Venezuela was researched. For this purpose, a standardized interview was administered to an sample (n = 33) of both genders (19 males and 14 females), aged 25 and over, whose members were incidentally selected in settlements/small towns of Amazonas State (Venezuela). The outcomes show that: a) all of them are satisfied with their gender and they are heterosexual;
b) they prefer the use of the sense of sight (69.7%) and the combination of sight and touch (66.7%) in order to activate themselves sexually; c) only 54.5% and 36.4% use sexual fantasies and they transmit them to their partners, respectively; d) all of them prefer the coital position of "woman below" (missionary); e) the most common sexual frequency is of 5-9 days (48.5%), followed by that of 10-14 days (27.3%); f) their sexual response is complete (81.8%), and monoorgasmic (100%); and g) 66.7% is unsatisfied with their time of sexual functioning, because, according to women, men are too fast, and according to the latter, the former are too slow. Men and women show statistically significant differences (c2; p £ 0.05) in the use of sexual fantasies, in the sexual response (complete/incomplete) and in the lack of satisfaction with the time of sexual functioning (fast/slow). Some socio-individual variables show a relationship with the dimensions of sexual pattern. But the intertwinements are sometime not reliable
