Se explora la historia de los límites y relaciones entre las disciplinas artísticas y la genealogía de los medios. Se revisa inicialmente un señalamiento de Muller sobre la indisciplina de los objetos del media art y, a partir de ese cruce, se establecen dos líneas oblicuas de investigación. En la primera parte se estudian algunos momentos clave de la clasificación de las disciplinas artísticas, asimismo, se examina la noción de ‘disciplina’ y sus derivados. En la segunda, se revisa el término ‘media’ y los provenientes de ella. Además, se observan los conceptos ‘inter’ y ‘transmedia’, y se analiza la postmedialidad desde dos posturas antagónicas. El recorrido concluye volviendo a la intersección que dio origen a este trabajo, para después reflexionar, en las conclusiones, sobre el papel de los materiales; la marginación entre medios y disciplinas; y la postmedialidad como ausencia de dominio entre medios.
This work explores the history of the boundaries and relationships between artistic disciplines and the genealogy of media. It begins with a discussion of Muller’s observations on the indiscipline of media art objects and uses this intersection to establish two oblique lines of investigation. The first part examines key moments in the classification of artistic disciplines, alongside an analysis of the notion of 'discipline' and its derivatives. The second part focuses on the term 'media' and its related concepts, including 'intermedia' and 'transmedia.' It also analyzes post-mediality from two opposing perspectives. The study concludes by returning to the intersection that inspired this work, reflecting in the final remarks on the role of materials, the marginalization between media and disciplines, and post-mediality as the absence of dominance among media.
