The study explores the interrelations between international law, the Consti-tution, and the realization of rights, focusing on the contribution of Research Line 3 of the PPGD/UFRN to the advancement of international law. The research posed the fol-lowing question: have the studies developed within research line 3 of the PPGD/UFRN contributed to the formation of a Potiguar School of International Law? The study inves-tigates the work of faculty members and, notably, alumni, analyzing their qualifications, professional trajectories, and academic output, with the aim of assessing the possibility of recognizing a regional school. Using a mixed methodology, the study outlines a his-tory of the Potiguar School and examines master's theses, highlighting recurring themes and gaps in research. The study is justified by the need to understand the academic impact of the research line, aiming to strengthen public policies and the protection of rights. The results reveal diverse output with an emphasis on human rights, conven-tionality control, and contemporary issues such as climate change and international mi-gration. However, there is limited continuity in the academic qualification of graduates, indicating the need for greater encouragement for academic progression, such as the creation of a Doctoral program, to consolidate the Potiguar School of International Law.
O estudo explora as inter-relações entre direito internacional, Constituição e concretização de direitos, focando na contribuição da linha de pesquisa 3 do PPGD/UFRN para o avanço do direito internacional. Assim, questionou-se: as pesquisas desenvolvidas no âmbito da linha de pesquisa 3 do PPGD/UFRN têm contribuído para a formação de uma Escola Potiguar de Direito Internacional? A pesquisa investiga a atuação de docentes e, notadamente, egressos, analisando suas qualificações, trajetórias profissionais e produção acadêmica, com o objetivo de avaliar a possibilidade de reconhecimento de uma escola regional. Utilizando uma metodologia mista, o estudo traça um histórico da Escola Potiguar e examina dissertações de mestrado, destacando temas recorrentes e lacunas na pesquisa. Justifica-se pela necessidade de entender o impacto acadêmico da linha, visando fortalecer políticas públicas e a proteção de direitos. Os resultados mostram uma produção diversificada com ênfase em direitos humanos, controle de convencionalidade, e questões contemporâneas como mudanças climáticas e migrações internacionais. Constatou-se, no entanto, uma limitada continuidade na qualificação acadêmica dos egressos, indicando a necessidade de maior incentivo à progressão acadêmica, como a criação de um curso de Doutorado, para consolidar a Escola Potiguar de Direito Internacional.
