La presente investigación recupera el concepto de "nacionalfutbolismo" como una herramienta crítica y de memoria histórica para comprender las complejas relaciones entre el mundo del fútbol y las estructuras de poder en España. Tras localizar el origen del término y discutir sus usos en la literatura existente, se documentan imágenes y materiales de archivo que sugieren, por un lado, que el arco temporal del nacionalfutbolismo tiene antecedentes en el período anterior al franquismo (pese a ser este su centro), y por otro, que se apoya en una mezcla de lo mediático y lo popular, de lo deportivo y lo cinematográfico, que desborda el ámbito de la propaganda o la instrumentalización política generando múltiples capas de significado, desde el nacionalismo banal a la narrativa del esfuerzo, los discursos de odio y el machismo. A través del estudio del caso de Ricardo Zamora, se aportan fotografías inéditas y se recopilan actos, lugares y fechas que confirman la significación fascista de este importante jugador durante los primeros años del régimen franquista.
This research rethinks the concept of "nationalfootballism" as a tool for critique and historical memory, in order to grasp the complex links between the world of football and power structures in Spain. After locating the origin of the term and discussing its uses in the existing literature, the article documents images and archival materials that suggest, on the one hand, that the temporal arch of nationalfootballism has precedents before francoism (even if that is its real center), and on the other hand, that it is based on a mixture of the popular and the visual, sport and media, that goes beyond the realm of propaganda or political instrumentation and generates multiple layers of meaning from banal nationalism to the effort narrative, hate speech and machismo. Through the case study of Ricardo Zamora, the text unveils unpublished photographs as well as events, places and dates that confirm the fascists alignment of this important player during the early years of the francoist regime.
