A ideia de investigar o perfil dos visitantes da cidade de Dourados/MS e a hipótese de que a cidade é centro regional de tratamento em saúde estimulou o surgimento desta pesquisa, cujo objetivo foi identificar, de forma preliminar, quem são os usuários do serviço de saúde da cidade e do que é formada a oferta médico-hospitalar de Dourados. A natureza exploratória do tema e as dificuldades encontradas ao longo da pesquisa exigiram que fosse delimitado o universo de pesquisa apenas nos hospitais públicos da cidade. A metodologia incluiu revisão teórica, pesquisa documental e de campo. A principal contribuição foi feita na construção do referencial teórico e na construção de um diagnóstico dos principais equipamentos e serviços médicos da cidade, bem como na caracterização do perfil de usuário do sistema público de saúde dos hospitais investigados. Estes resultados permitirão que outras pesquisas aprofundem a temática e os dados sobre esse segmento, o qual movimenta economicamente o município.
The idea of investigating the profile of the visitors of the city of Dourados / MS and the hypothesis that the city is a regional center for health treatment stimulated the emergence of this research, whose objective was to identify, in a preliminary way, who are the users of the health service. of the city and of what is formed the medical-hospital supply of Dourados. The exploratory nature of the theme and the difficulties encountered throughout the research required that the research universe be limited only to the public hospitals of the city. The methodology included theoretical revision, documentary and field research. The main contribution was made in the construction of the theoretical framework and in the construction of a diagnosis of the main medical equipment and services of the city, as well as in the characterization of the user profile of the public health system of the hospitals investigated. These results will allow other research to deepen the theme and data on this segment, which economically moves the municipality.
