The aim of the author is to provide a "map" of the Italian libraries specialized in cooking, gastronomy, food culture and food history, such as: the library of Casa Artusi, important center of gastronomic culture located in Forlimpopoli; Academia Barilla (Parma), Accademia nazionale della cucina (Milan), ALMA cooking school (Colorno); the International library "La Vigna" (Vicenza); and the Bibliothèque international de gastronomie (BING), in the Italian speaking Switzerland.
