he existing bibliography in scientific articles, books, and even academic theses has interpreted the λόγοςin Justin as the central key to his argumentation and his main philosophical contribution. In fact, Justin has been widely recognized as “the philosopher of the lógos.” However, a careful reading of his works—particularly the Apologiesand the Dialogue with Trypho—reveals an unprecedented nuance in this concept, one that enriches and expands its understanding. Beyond constituting the central idea of Justin’s thought, the lógosoriginally articulates both the theological and philosophical dimensions, with special relevance in the ethical domain. In this paper, we show how the lógosin Justin takes on different nuances and propose a reinterpretation of the concept, highlighting its role in the author’s argumentative structure and its influence on ethics, particularly on practical action, from both a philosophical and theological perspective.
