  Este artículo analiza el impacto que las redes de inmigrantes extranjeros y emigrantes españoles tienen en las exportaciones de las provincias españolas, distinguiendo entre el margen extensivo y el margen intensivo. Para ello, se estima un modelo de gravedad estructural y se emplea una función de control no lineal para tener en cuenta la posible endogeneidad entre migración y comercio. Para el periodo 2017-2024, hay una relación positiva entre inmigración, emigración y el margen extensivo de las exportaciones; es decir, la migración incide positivamente sobre el número de transacciones que realizan las empresas al ayudar a reducir los costes de entrada en los mercados extranjeros

  This study analyzes the impact of foreign immigrant and Spanish emigrant networks on the exports of Spanish provinces, distinguishing between the extensive and the intensive margins. To do so, a structural gravity model is estimated, and a nonlinear control function is employed to account for potential endogeneity between migration and trade. For the period 2017-2024, a positive relationship is found between immigration, emigration, and the extensive margin of exports; that is, migration positively affects the number of transactions carried out by firms by helping reduce entry costs into foreign markets.
