El presente artículo estudia el caso Gutiérrez Navas y otros vs. Honduras, resuelto por la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, que trata sobre la destitución arbitraria e ilegal de cua-tro magistrados de la Sala de lo Constitucional de la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Honduras. Utilizando una metodología cualitativa con enfoque analítico documental, el estudio examina los antecedentes del caso, los hechos probados, las violaciones a los derechos humanos identi-ficadas por la Corte, el reconocimiento parcial de responsabilidad por parte del Estado, así como las medidas de reparación integral y no repetición. La investigación destaca la importancia de la independencia judicial y ofrece recomendaciones para fortalecer el estado de derecho y la justicia independiente en América Latina
This article analyzes the case “Gutiérrez Navas et al. v. Honduras”, decided by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which deals with the arbitrary and illegal dismissal of four judges of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice of Honduras. Using a qualitative methodology with a documentary analytical approach, the study examines the background of the case, the proven facts, the human rights violations identified by the Court, the partial re-cognition of responsibility by the State, as well as the measures of integral reparation and non-repetition. The research highlights the importance of judicial independence and offers recom-mendations to strengthen the rule of law and independent justice in Latin America
