Este artículo consiste en una exploración filosófica de la ficción de lo extraño de H. P. Lovecraft y Thomas Ligotti, a través de los cuentos “La ceremonia” y “La última fiesta del arlequín”, en los que existe una continuidad narrativa. En estos relatos se hacen explícitas las cuestiones de la verdad, la evolución y el antinatalismo, las cuales se vinculan con la presencia de un animal que aparece en ambas narraciones: el gusano. En la conclusión, se esclarecen los componentes de la ficción de lo extraño desde las perspectivas de Lovecraft y Ligotti.
This article consists of a philosophical exploration of H. P. Lovecraft’s and Thomas Ligotti’s weird fiction, through the stories “The Festival” and “The Last Feast of Harlequin”, in which there is a narrative continuity. In these tales, we make explicit the issues of truth, evolution and antinatalism, which are linked to the presence of an animal that appears in both stories: the worm. In the conclusion, we clarify the components of weird fiction from the perspectives of Lovecraft and Ligotti.
