Entender los hechos y entender a sus actores en el ámbito de las Relaciones Internacionales no siempre resulta una tarea sencilla. Nos ilustran las palabras de Valencia El sujeto no ha creado la hermosura, más sí la ha dotado de un significado o sentido para él. Ocurre algo similar cuando consideramos las actitudes de los Estados o incluso los propios hechos concretos. La interpretación, el significado de lo que ocurre en el mundo mediante las ideas, especialmente si son masivamente compartidas, forman parte también de la realidad internacional y tienen un potencial transformador que ha sido estudiado por el constructivismo. Este trabajo toma en consideración los planteamientos constructivistas y los pone en relación con diferentes situaciones de la actualidad internacional.
Understanding the facts and understanding the actors in the field of International Relations is not always a simple task. Quoting Valencia-Restrepo, «The subject has not created beauty, but has endowed it with a meaning or sense for him.» Something similar happens when we consider the attitudes of states or even the concrete facts themselves. The interpretation, the meaning of what happens in the world through ideas, especially if they are massively shared, are also part of international reality and have a transformative potential that has been studied by constructivism. This work takes constructivist approaches into consideration and relates them to different current international situations.
