Estudiar los tiempos de acceso a los servicios de salud es una temática determinante enmarcada en el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible número tres. Lo anterior, permite establecer desafíos en la parte del componente de accesibilidad y así propiciar diagnósticos territoriales. Este trabajo modela los tiempos de acceso a servicios de salud (rural y hospital) en La Unión, Chile mediante análisis espacial. Los resultados expresan que los habitantes de localidades con postas rurales tienen accesibilidad menor a 21 minutos. Respecto al hospital, existe un patrón centro-periferia: tiempos bajos (0-13 minutos) en el centro, intermedios (14-29 minutos) en áreas adyacentes y altos (alcanzando tiempos de 138 minutos) en zonas alejadas. Se evidencian disparidades significativas entre distritos rurales, coincidiendo posiblemente con otros contextos rurales del país, dejando en manifiesto la necesidad de revisar áreas con una cobertura acotada.
Studying access times in the context of health is a determining issue in the framework of Sustainable Development Goal number three. This makes it possible to establish challenges in part of the accessibility component and thus promote territorial diagnoses. This work models access times to health services (rural and hospital) in La Unión, Chile through spatial analysis. The results show that localities with rural health posts have accessibility of less than 21 minutes. Regarding the hospital, there is a center-periphery pattern: low times (0-13 minutes) in the center, intermediate (14-29 minutes) in adjacent areas and high times (reaching 138 minutes) in remote areas. Significant disparities between rural districts are evident, possibly coinciding with other rural contexts in the country, highlighting the need to review areas with limited coverage.
