Puerto Rico
Se trata de una breve historia de la filosofía en Puerto Rico, sus principales tendencias (iluminismo, positivismo, vitalismo, existencialismo, fenomenología, nietzscheismo), autores más destacados y obras principales, que abarcan desde finales del siglo XIX hasta el presente. Se presenta una periodización de la filosofía en Puerto Rico desde sus inicios iluministas hasta el presente, que resulta ser más epistemológica y socio analítica, atendiendo a la realidad puertorriqueña. Prácticamente todas las áreas de la filosofía han suscitado el interés de los filósofos puertorriqueños. Asimismo, han sido numerosos los filósofos europeos y latinoamericanos que han sido comentados y estudiados.
This is a brief history of philosophy in Puerto Rico, its main trends (enlightenment, positivism, vitalism, existentialism, phenomenology, nietzscheism), most prominent authors and main works, spanning from the end of the 19th century to the present. A periodization of philosophy in Puerto Rico is presented from its Enlightenment beginnings to the present, which turns out to be more epistemological and socio-analytical, taking into account the Puerto Rican reality. Practically all areas of philosophy have aroused the interest of Puerto Rican philosophers. Likewise, there have been numerous European and Latin American philosophers who have been commented on and studied.
