El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la evolución del campo de estudio de la Paradiplomacia a través de sus principales debates. Además, pretende aportar a la definición sobre sus límites y alcance. Para ello, se propone un recorrido por cinco puntos de reflexión, que estructuran algu-nos de los principales debates de la disciplina: 1) el concepto; 2) el actor paradiplomático; 3) las relaciones con el Estado central; 4) causas y moti-vaciones de la actividad paradiplomática; y 5) límites y alcance del campo de estudio. En cuanto a la metodología, se adopta un abordaje cualitativo basado en técnicas de revisión bibliográfica enfocadas en literatura especia-lizada, con fecha límite en el año 2022. El texto se estructura en cinco apar-tados que corresponden a cada uno de los puntos de análisis propuestos. Al finalizar, se exponen reflexiones concluyentes junto con interrogantes que pueden dar origen a nuevas líneas de investigación.
The objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of the field of study of Paradiplomacy through its main debates and contribute to the definition of its limits and scope. To this end, a tour of 5 points of reflection is pro-posed, which structure some of the main debates of the discipline: 1) on the concept; 2) on the paradiplomatic actor; 3) on relations with the central State; 4) on the causes and motivations; y 5) about the limits and scope. Re-garding the methodology, it is a qualitative approach, using bibliographic review techniques focused on specialized literature with a deadline of 2022. The text is structured in 5 sections that correspond to each of the proposed analysis points. At the end, conclusive reflections are presented along with questions that can give rise to new lines of research
