n El Archivo de la Diputación Provincial de Huesca guarda veintiún libros de estatutos y ordinaciones de cofradías, datados entre 1714 y 1842, de las veinticuatro hermandades que llegó a tener Sariñena. Su estudio nos ha permitido componer un perfil de la vida religiosa, económica y social de la villa en el siglo xviii y la primera mitad del xix y conocer el papel de la iglesia colegial de San Salvador, así como de los tres conventos que regía (la cartuja de Nuestra Señora de las Fuentes, el convento del Carmen y el de San Francisco, todos extramuros de la villa), a través del análisis de sus actas y sus registros de gastos e ingresos, creando un calendario anual de celebraciones y una aproximación a los espacios religiosos hoy desaparecidos, aportando nuevos datos y elementos como retablos o reliquias al desconocido patrimonio inmueble local e incluso documentando la presencia de fray Manuel Bayeu, cartujo de las Fuentes, como hermano en al menos tres de las cofradías.
The Archive of the Diputación Provincial de Huesca holds 21 books of statutes and ordinances of confraternities, dated between 1714 and 1842, for the 24 lay brotherhoods which Sariñena had at that time. Their study has enabled us to compose a profile of the religious, economic and social life of the town in the 18th century and the first half of the 19th, and to understand the role of the Collegiate Church of San Salvador and the three religious houses it governed (the Charterhouse of Nuestra Señora de las Fuentes, the Convent of the Carmen and the Convent of San Francisco, all located outside the town limits) through an analysis of their official acts and financial accounts, creating a calendar of the year’s feast days and an approximation of religious spaces which no longer exist, contributing new information and elements such as altarpieces and relics to the unknown local built heritage, and even documenting the presence of Fray Manuel Bayeu, a Carthusian friar of las Fuentes, as a member of at least three of the confraternities.
