En este trabajo se analiza, desde un punto de vista argumentativo, el uso de la WBE en el contexto mediático de la COVID-19. Concretamente, el análisis se centrará tanto en la identificación y reconstrucción de los argumentos, como en su evaluación lógica en el contexto teórico y discursivo especifico. El objetivo es analizar y reflexionar acerca de la aceptación y legitimación de las innovaciones científicas en tiempos de crisis sanitaria. Con este propósito, utilizaré conjuntamente las herramientas de la dialéctica de los argumentos y el concepto de dispositivo de argumentación - desarrollado por las autoras Sally Jackson y Jodi Schneider. El análisis revela la ocurrencia de una triple simplificación al trasladar argumentos pertenecientes a un contexto científico especializado al contexto mediático, fenómeno que puede ser de especial interés estudiar en otros casos y circunstancias.
This paper analyses, from an argumentative point of view, the use of wastewater-based epidemiology in the media context of COVID-19. Specifically, the analysis will focus on both the identification and reconstruction of the arguments, as well as their logical evaluation in the specific theoretical and discursive context. The objective is to explore empirically some aspects related to the media acceptance and legitimisation of certain scientific communications in times of health crisis. For this purpose, I will jointly use the tools of the dialectics of arguments and the concept of argumentation device - developed by the authors Sally Jackson and Jodi Schneider. The analysis reveals the occurrence of a triple simplification when transferring arguments belonging to a specialized scientific context to the media context, a phenomenon that may be of special interest to study in other cases and circumstances.
