El Índice de Preparación para la Inteligencia Artificial elaborado por el FMI (2023) ubica a Venezuela como uno de los países menos preparados de América Latina y el Caribe para adoptar la IA. En este sentido, los eventos sobre IA ofrecidos por las universidades venezolanas pertenecen a segundo nivel dentro de formación docente. Así pues, las conferencias, cursos, talleres y diplomados han formado parte de la oferta formativa en la UCV, ULA, UCAB y UNIMET. De allí que, las autoras describieran el fenómeno de eventos sobre IA desarrollados en las instituciones de educación superior mencionadas con la idea de contribuir con las mejoras pertinentes.
Entre las principales conclusiones se destacan: a) necesidad de superar los desafíos tecnológicos (infraestructura, por ejemplo), b) publicación de las reseñas de eventos al público y c) estimular la cooperación entre organizaciones.
The Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index prepared by the IMF (2023) places Venezuela as one of the least prepared countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to adopt AI. In this sense, the events on AI offered by Venezuelan universities belong to the second level within teacher training. Thus, conferences, courses, workshops and diploma courses have been part of the training offer at UCV, ULA, UCAB and UNIMET. Hence, the authors described the phenomenon of AI events developed in the mentioned institutions of higher education with the idea of contributing with the pertinent improvements.
Among the main conclusions are: a) the need to overcome technological challenges (infrastructure, for example), b) publication of event reviews to the public and c) stimulate cooperation between organizations.
