This past December, our ten-year tenure as Editors-in-Chief of the American Journal of Comparative Law came to a close. This issue is the last published under our direction. It is with great gratitude and pride that we look back on our two five-year terms of service to this publication and its dedicated readers.
The editorship of the Journal has previously been in the hands of European émigrés, and the most illustrious ones. Yet, beyond our European backgrounds, the inclusion of McGill as one of the hosting institutions, together with Georgetown Law, meant that the Journal was, for the first time, partly entrusted to an institution outside of the United States. We have always been keenly aware of the responsibility that comes with following in the footsteps of a long line of venerable predecessors whose dedication and contributions have shaped the Journal into one of the leading publications in our field. We are deeply grateful to the American Society of Comparative Law for having given us the opportunity to build upon this legacy.
