El objetivo central de este artículo es explicar el caso de Fluidra, una organización que desde hace un tiempo ha integrado la sostenibilidad, el respeto por el medio ambiente y el buen gobierno corporativo como componentes cruciales de su operatividad y estrategia de crecimiento. A través de esta transición, Fluidra aspira a convertirse en una entidad que aporta significativamente al progreso económico, ambiental y social mediante sus actividades empresariales. La compañía ha articulado su misión corporativa de forma clara y contundente: “crear la experiencia perfecta de piscina y wellness de forma responsable”. Esta declaración de misión no es meramente retórica; la empresa ha implementado acciones tangibles que la dirigen hacia la realización de sus objetivos de ESG. Además, estos avances facilitan la adaptación de Fluidra a las nuevas leyes, normativas y expectativas en materia de ESG. Una de estas nuevas regulaciones es la Directiva Europea (UE) 2022/2464 del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo aprobada el 14 de diciembre de 2022. Esta directiva estipula la presentación de información sobre ESG por parte de las empresas. En el caso de las grandes empresas, la implementación de esta directiva será obligatoria a partir de 2025, cuando presenten los resultados de 2024. The central objective of this article is to explain the case of Fluidra, an organization that, for some time now, has integrated sustainability, respect for the environment, and good corporate governance as crucial components of its operations and growth strategy. Through this transition, Fluidra aspires to become an entity that contributes significantly to economic, environmental, and social progress through its business activities. The company has articulated its corporate mission in a clear and compelling manner: “to create the perfect pool and wellness experience responsibly.” This mission statement is not merely rhetorical; the company has implemented tangible actions that drive it towards achieving its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) objectives. Furthermore, these advancements facilitate Fluidra’s adaptation to new laws, regulations, and ESG expectations. One of these new regulations is the European Directive (EU) 2022/2464 of the European Parliament and of the Council, approved on December 14, 2022. This directive stipulates the disclosure of ESG information by companies. For large enterprises, the implementation of this directive will be mandatory starting in 2025, when they report their 2024 results. This new legislative framework underscores the need to integrate sustainable practices into corporate management and to disclose these initiatives transparently and responsibly.
