La diversidad lingüística se refiere al reconocimiento y valoración de las distintas lenguas y dialectos presentes en la Unión Europea, como parte esencial de su patrimonio cultural inmaterial. En el presente texto, se presenta un caso español ante el Tribunal de Justicia de la UE, donde éste, estableciendo que la diversidad lingüística merece protección y promoción, permite que los Estados miembros tomen las medidas necesarias para preservar y fomentar las lenguas. Esto contribuye a salvaguardar la riqueza cultural y promover la igualdad lingüística en el ámbito europeo. Igualmente se analizará el impacto de esta sentencia en el ámbito nacional.
Linguistic diversity refers to the recognition and appreciation of the different languages and dialects present in the European Union as an essential part of its intangible cultural heritage. In this text, a Spanish case is presented before the Court of Justice of the EU, where it is established that linguistic diversity deserves protection and promotion, allowing Member States to take necessary measures to preserve and foster languages. This contributes to safeguarding cultural wealth and promoting linguistic equality at the European level. Likewise, the impact of this judgment on the national level will be analyzed.
