La alta capacidad cognitiva no es sinónimo de satisfactorio rendimiento académico. El objetivo de esta revisión es conocer qué suscita la literatura con relación a las altas capacidades, algunas de las problemáticas de este alumnado dentro del ámbito educativo y posibles medidas de intervención para las mismas. Se efectuó una revisión narrativa consultando artículos indexados en las bases de datos PubMed, Google-Scholar, ResearchGate, Scopus y Web of Science a través del uso de operadores boleanos. Los resultados demuestran que algunas de las medidas como la ampliación curricular, aceleración y el enriquecimiento no están exentas de desventajas como la segregación y el elitismo. El Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos (ABP), la tutoría entre iguales y el aprendizaje cooperativo parecen ser más efectivos a nivel inclusivo. Sin embargo, en muchas ocasiones el alumnado con altas capacidades termina por no beneficiarse de ninguna de las metodologías anteriores por la desinformación docente, la inflexibilidad y la circunscripción de la creatividad. Como conclusiones, el profesorado debe profesionalizarse en todo lo que respecta a las altas capacidades para eliminar el ambiente rígido del aula, demandar niveles de exigencia adecuados a las posibilidades de los estudiantes e instaurar respuestas educativas ajustadas a sus necesidades específicas.Esto permitirá que el alumnado con altas capacidades perciba mayor interés y motivación hacia el aprendizaje y obtenga calificaciones acordes a su cognición.
High cognitive ability is not synonymous with satisfactory academic performance. The objective of this review is to know what the literature raises in relation to high abilities, some of the problems of these students within the educational field and possible intervention measures for them. A narrative review was carried out consulting articles indexed in the PubMed, Google-Scholar, ResearchGate, Scopus and Web of Science databases through the use of Boolean operators. The results show that some of the measures such as curricular expansion, acceleration and enrichment are not exempt from disadvantages such as segregation and elitism. Project Based Learning (PBL), peer tutoring and cooperative learning appear to be more effective at an inclusive level. However, on many occasions, students with high abilities end up not benefiting from any of the previous methodologies due to teacher misinformation, inflexibility and the circumscription of creativity. As conclusions, teachers must become professional in everything related to high abilities to eliminate the rigid environment of the classroom, demand levels of demand appropriate to the possibilities of the students and establish educational responses tailored to their specific needs.
