The aim of this paper is to examine the royal entries that took place in the city of Seville during the Late Middle Ages, from the Christian con-quest of 1248 until the reign of the Catholic Monarchs. The king’s visit to the city and his reception involved the development of a ceremonial that varied throughout the medieval centuries. Therefore, in addition to explaining the different types of royal entries that we can observe during this period, we offer an historical-descrip-tive tour of these ceremonial manifestations during the successive reigns, which allows us to observe chronologically their evolution and variation.
