In this research, an exploratory study of reading behaviors of sociology students at the Universidad Central de Venezuela was conducted. The interest was focused on knowing what books and preferences these students have, determining at the same time if these inclinations go hand in hand with their decision to study social sciences. The research was approached from two perspectives: one quantitative, through the application of a questionnaire to obtain general data on the student population, related to titles, access to forms of entertainment and reading formats; another qualitative approach, where a series of semi-structured interviews were conducted to learn about reading habits from testimonial perspectives, seeking the emotional relationship and its practice both in everyday life and in university education.
