Ante la creciente evidencia de que la lectura y la manipulación de la actividad neural por medio de técnicas neurotecnológicas mediadas por la IA podrían tener repercusiones sin precedentes en la identidad de las personas, e introducir elementos dispares en la atribución de responsabilidades morales, e incluso legales, este artículo plantea si ha llegado el momento de actualizar los derechos existentes e incorporar estos nuevos «neuroderechos» y las posibles formas de afrontar ese desafío, por ejemplo a través de la actualización de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos
Given the growing evidence that the reading and manipulation of neural activity using AI-mediated neurotechnological techniques could have unprecedented repercussions on the identity of individuals and introduce disparate elements in the attribution of moral and even legal responsibilities, this article considers whether the time has come to update existing rights and incorporate these new «neuro-rights» and the possible ways to meet this challenge, for example by updating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
