Concepción Arenal (1820-1893) y Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921) son dos autoras particularmente representativas del feminismo español de finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX. En este estudio se abordan sus respectivos perfiles vitales a través de la representación de sus imágenes autoriales, su biografía y, finalmente, algunos de sus textos más relevantes en lo que respecta a la configuración de su papel como intelectuales en la sociedad de su tiempo. Así, en esta investigación aproximativa analizaremos fragmentos de La mujer del porvenir (1869) de Concepción Arenal y de la correspondencia epistolar de Emilia Pardo Bazán con Benito Pérez Galdós. Dado el abundante contenido autobiográfico de estos textos, nos encontramos ante un ingente material que resulta de gran interés a la hora de aproximarnos a las figuras de ambas autoras.
Los rasgos autobiográficos diseminados en las citadas obras también nos proporcionarán una información de valor incalculable a la hora de iniciar un estudio en profundidad de la vida y obra de las dos escritoras gallegas.
Concepción Arenal (1820-1893) and Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921) are two authors who are particularly representative of Spanish feminism at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. In this study, their respective vital profiles are addressed through the representation of their authorial images, their biography and, finally, some of their most relevant texts regarding the configuration of their role as intellectuals in the society of their time. Thus, in this approximate investigation we will analyze fragments of La mujer del porvenir (1869) by Concepción Arenal and the epistolary correspondence between Emilia Pardo Bazán and Benito Pérez Galdós. Given the abundant autobiographical content of these texts, we are faced with an enormous amount of material that is of great interest when approaching the figures of both authors. The autobiographical features disseminated in the aforementioned works will also provide us with invaluable information when starting an in-depth study of the life and work of the two Galician writers.
