La revisión exhaustiva de publicaciones relevantesenuncampode estudio,constituye una de las etapas fundamentales y primordiales al iniciar un trabajo de investigación, esta brinda una clara comprensión de la situación actual y de los temas pertinentes asociados al tema en cuestión.En este artículo se estableceun método que permite analizar las tendencias científicas acerca de la Economía del Desarrollo.Esta metodología identifica los avances en esta disciplina, através,de técnicasbibliométricasbasadas enindicadores obtenidosdela informacióndeScopus y Web of Science (WoS),dos de lasbasesdatos más reconocidasdentrodel mundo científicopor su nivel de impacto.De un total de 595documentos publicados duranteel periodo 2010-2022, se analiza:la evolución de la producción científica, los autores más citados, los países de mayor producción, lacoocurrencia de palabras clave y el análisis de redes.Los resultados indican que la producción científica en economía del desarrollo ha experimentado un crecimiento promediodel 7% anual, las áreas de investigación más destacadasson las económicas, las sociales, los estudios de desarrollo, estudios ambientales, negocios y gestión, econometría, finanzas y políticas de economía agrícola. El autor con más publicaciones esAlacevich, M., el país con mayor producción científica es Estados Unidos con el 27,23% del total de los documentos publicados.Además, se identificaronalgunoscaminos prometedores para futuras investigaciones centrados en:economía y migración; desarrollo y medio ambiente; políticas de desarrollo económico; inclusión financiera y desarrollo; y finalmente en instituciones y desarrollo.
The exhaustive review of relevant publications in a field of study constitutes one of the fundamental and primordial stages when initiating a research work, as it provides a clear understanding of the current situation and the pertinent topics associated with the subject in question. This article establishes a method to analyze the scientific trends in Development Economics. This methodology identifies the advances in this discipline through bibliometric techniques based on indicators obtained from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), two of the most recognized databases in the scientific world for their level of impact. From a total of 595 documents published during the period 2010-2022, we analyzed: the evolution of scientific production, the most cited authors, the countries with the highest production, the co-occurrence of keywords and network analysis. The results indicate that scientific production in development economics has experienced an average growth of 7% per year, the most prominent research areas are economic, social, development studies, environmental studies, business and management, econometrics, finance and agricultural economics policies. The author with the most publications is Alacevich, M., the country with the highest scientific production is the United States with 27.23% of the total number of published papers. In addition, some promising avenues for future research were identified, focusing on thefields: economics and migration; development and environment; economic development policies; financial inclusion and development; and finally, institutions and development.
