El despertar de la iglesia mundial se concreta, las iglesias locales de las distintas regiones del mundo adquieren un nuevo peso, la sinodalidad se convierte en el leitmotiv de esta "iglesia en marcha". El ensayo está escrito en el contexto del trabajo del autor en el proyecto de un comentario intercontinental sobre los documentos del Vaticano II ("Vaticano II -Legado y mandato"), en el que Peter Hünermann es miembro del equipo de dirección. El ensayo recuerda sus aportaciones sistemático-teológicas a la sinodalidad y desarrolla su significado para los actuales movimientos de reforma de una Iglesia sinodal. Los textos del Concilio Vaticano II siguen siendo la referencia central de estos intentos de ser una Iglesia "misionera" de una manera nueva. Con Peter Hünermann, se entienden como un "constituyente de la fe".
According to the thesis of the article, a new phase of the reception of the Second Vatican Council has begun with the pontificate of Francis. The world-church awakening is becoming concrete, the local churches in the various regions of the world are gaining new weight, synodality is becoming the leitmotif of this "church on the move". The essay is written in the context of the author's work in the project of an intercontinental commentary on the documents of Vatican II ("Vatican II -Legacy and Mandate"), in which Peter Hünermann is a member of the leadership team. The essay recalls his systematic-theological contributions to synodality and develops their significance for the current reform movements of a synodal church. The texts of the Second Vatican Council remain the central reference for these attempts to be a "missionary" church in a new way. With Peter Hünermann, they are understood as a "constituent of faith"..
Mit dem Pontifikat von Franziskus hat, so die These des Aufsatzes, eine neue Phase der Rezeption des 2. Vatikanischen Konzils begonnen. Der weltkirchliche Aufbruch wird konkret, die Ortskirchen in den verschiedenen Weltregionen erhalten neues Gewicht, Synodalität wird zum Leitmotiv dieser „Kirche im Aufbruch“. Der Aufsatz ist im Horizont der Arbeit der Verfasserin im Projekt einer interkontinentalen Kommentierung der Dokumente des 2. Vatikanischen Konzils („Vatican II –Legacy and Mandate“) verfasst, in dem Peter Hünermann im Leitungsteam mitarbeitet. Der Aufsatz erinnert an seine systematisch-theologischen Beiträge zur Synodalität und erschließt ihre Bedeutung für die gegenwärtigen Reformbewegungen einer synodalen Kirche. Dabei bleiben die Texte des 2. Vatikanischen Konzils die zentrale Referenz für diese Aufbrüche, auf neue Weise „missionarisch“ Kirche zu sein. Sie werden mit Peter Hünermann als eine „Constituante des Glaubens“ verstanden.
