El objetivo de este artículo es identificar configuraciones organizativas o agrupaciones de hoteles con un perfil similar en relación con una serie de variables distintivas clave: rentabilidad, recursos y capacidades, entorno, liderazgo, estrategia y sostenibilidad. Las dimensiones social, económica y ambiental de dicha sostenibilidad han sido igualmente incluidas. Para conseguir el objetivo planteado en 2019 se llevó a cabo un estudio con una muestra de hoteles de Ecuador. Las conclusiones obtenidas de un análisis cluster revelan que la sostenibilidad es una de las variables clave, junto con la tecnología y la orientación al mercado
The objective of this article is to identify organizational configurations or sets of hotels that share a common profile along key distinct variables: profitability, resources and capabilities, general environment, leadership, strategy, and sustainability. Social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability have been considered. This objective was achieved by completing a survey in a sample of hotels in Ecuador in 2019. The conclusions obtained from a cluster analysis reveal that sustainability is one of the key variables, along with technology and market orientation.
