La seguridad turística es una construcción social que en algunas ciudades turísticas se constituye como un discurso que nubla problemáticas vinculadas a la violencia no solo contra las mujeres que las visitan, sino también sobre quienes las habitan. El objetivo fue analizar las formas de violencia contra las mujeres (VCLM) que se producen en los espacios públicos turísticos de Mazatlán, Sinaloa, mediante una metodología cualitativa constituida por 158 testimonios y cuatro grupos de discusión. La forma generalizada de VCLM en la zona turística es el acoso sexual callejero (ASC), tipología que se reproduce con diferentes matices: violencia psicológica, verbal, física y hasta económica, dejando en evidencia que la seguridad es un discurso político-económico que poco contribuye a la apropiación de los espacios por las mujeres de esta ciudad.
Tourism security is a social construction that in some tourist cities is constituted as a discourse that clouds problems linked to violence not only against the women who visit them but also against those who inhabit them. The objective was to analyze the forms of violence against women (VAW) that occur in public tourist spaces in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, through a qualitative methodology consisting of 158 testimonies and four discussion groups. The generalized form of VAW in the tourist area is street sexual harassment (SSH), a typology that is reproduced with different nuances: psychological, verbal, physical and even economic violence, making it clear that security is a political- economic discourse that does not contributes to the appropriation of spaces by the women of this city.
