Nowadays, the use of electronic graphing calculators is considered a great didactic tool. In the process of teaching and learning mathematics, technology has become an effective ally. The use of connected graphing packages (CGP) facilitates the understanding of mathematics in Ecuadorian education. The study aims to analyse the integration of CGP in the mathematics classroom. It also assessed the strategic and methodological challenges in the use of software in the teaching of mathematics at secondary school level. Ruthven’s Feature Structuring framework was applied. A qualitative paradigm study was applied. The research design was interpretative and exploratory. The informants were four teachers from the province of Cañar, Azogues Ecuador during 2022. Interviews and observations were conducted during the use of the CGP in mathematics activities. Among the results, mathematical craft skills are developed in their own way when applying the use of CGP. The teachers faced a technological challenge of didactic adaptation. They moved from a traditional model to a mathematical software system. Each had experience in the use of CCP. The teacher with more experience in CGP provided a more fluid and dynamic lesson. The techniques and uses of CGP are motivating for establishing integration in mathematics.
