An analysis of existence as tragedy and tearing is carried out from the work Phenomenology of the spirit, by the German philosopher G. W. F. Hegel. The Hegelian figure of the hapless conscience is confronted with the beautiful soul, thus accessing the roots of the division with oneself, where the tear arises because we are strangers even to ourselves. Next, the possibility of accessing an understanding of existence through unhappy consciousness, in its agonistic nature, as a space of resistance aga-inst the violence of contemporary positivity presented by the South Korean philosopher Byung-Chul Han is addressed.
