This article explores and describes the presence of yoga in early vedânta. This presence introduces praṇava yoga and asparśa yoga. These refer to and emphasise notions linked to the supports of concentration, the principle of hidden connections (bandhutā) and finally, the analysis of states of consciousness with the introduction of the turīya state which rises ontologically above the notion of realisation as it is seen in Patañjali's system.
