The aim of this case is to explain the methodology to be used to prepare a Risk Map for the management school UPF - BSM (Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona School of Management). Based on questionnaires to be answered by the Top Management, that should consider the strategic position, the organizational structure and the offer of services, besides the main strengths and challenges, it is possible to determine the risk universe to which the School is exposed. Such risks are classified in the following categories: strategic, operational, financial and compliance, and they are also part of the model the emerging risks corresponding to ESG criteria (Environmental, Social and Governance). All of them must be evaluated by the impact or seriousness/urgency and the probability of occurrence. After this evaluation, it will be possible to locate each risk in a heat map and in this way to know in which area the risks remain: critical, comfort or control area.
Finally, for the risks that are in the critical area, corrective actions should be designed with related action plans, indicating the responsible people and deadlines, in order to mitigate these risks and move them inside the map but out of the critical area.
