Dado el importante avance de los sistemas de información y su función como medio para promover el desarrollo en cualquier sector; para el turismo, representa una base fundamental que proporciona las herramientas necesarias de planificación y simplificación de los procesos para la toma de decisiones. Por lo tanto, el presente artículo presenta un aporte al campo de estudio en sistemas de información en turismo, orientado en métodos bibliométricos y en los resultados cualitativos y cuantitativos de la construcción de visualizaciones científicas, como alternativa para obtener valoraciones de la contribución de los documentos y autores, con técnicas centradas en procesamiento de registros con apoyo de software libre. Entre los resultados, se observa que el tema más investigado es el de los sistemas de información geográfica (SIG) y las principales revistas sobre el tema son: Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research.
Information systems have made significant progress as a means of promoting development in any sector; for tourism, it represents a fundamental base that provides the necessary planning tools and simplification of decision- making processes. Therefore, this article presents a contribution to the field of study in information systems in tourism, oriented in bibliometric methods and in the qualitative and quantitative results of the construction of scientific visualizations, as an alternative to obtain evaluations of the contribution of documents. and authors, with techniques focused on record processing with the support of free software.
Among the results, it is observed that the most researched topic is geographic information systems (GIS) and the main journals on the subject are: Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research.
