  Siguiendo con nuestra tradición histórica, la Constitución reconoce a los miembros de las Cortes Generales las prerrogativas parlamentarias, destinadas a preservar la posición y funciones del poder legislativo. En las páginas que siguen nos centraremos en el análisis de la inviolabilidad y la inmunidad, tratando de desentrañar su significado actual.   In line with our historical tradition, the Spanish Constitution recognizes parliamentary prerogatives to members of the «Cortes Generales» (Parliament) to preserve the position and functions of the Legislative Power. In the following pages, we will focus on the study of inviolability and immunity, trying to unravel their current meaning. The particularities of jurisdictional venue will be dealt with in another paper in this issue.
