Existe evidencia normativa, administrativa y hemerográfica para afirmar que en 1945 se ejerció el derecho al sufragio femenino en el Perú, en la instalación de las Juntas Municipales Transitorias promovidas por el Partido Aprista Peruano (APRA) desde el Congreso. Entre septiembre y octubre de 1945 hubo mujeres peruanas que votaron y fueron votadas en elecciones indirectas de dos grados reguladas por la Ley N.° 10233, aplicándose por primera vez el derecho al sufragio femenino municipal, contenido en el artículo 86.° de la Constitución de 1933. En este artículo se abordan las condiciones políticas y jurídicas que viabilizaron tales hechos, la dinámica de las elecciones y el sufragio de las mujeres en 1945, y su acceso a la función pública con énfasis en el caso de Dora Madueño, la primera alcaldesa del Perú, todo ello como parte de los hitos en la lucha de las mujeres peruanas por sus derechos civiles y políticos.
There is normative, administrative and hemerographic evidence regarding 1945 woman´s suffrage in Peru, to install Transitory Municipal Boards. The Boards were promoted by the Peruvian Aprista Party (APRA) from the Congress. Between September and October 1945, there were Peruvian women who voted and were elected. This happened in indirect elections of two degrees according to the Law N.° 10233. The right to municipal women's suffrage, contained in article 86 of the 1933 Constitution, was applied for the first time in 1945. This article addresses the political and legal conditions that allowed such events. Likewise, the dynamics of elections and women's suffrage in, and their access to public service, with emphasis on the case of Dora Madueño, Peru's first mayor in 1945, all this within the framework of the milestones in the Peruvian women's struggle for their civil and political rights.
