A través del desarrollo de diversas rutas del vino en Chile, se ha generado una oferta de turismo enológico que se ha traducido en cambios en las comunidades locales, ya que la llegada de viajeros, ha provocado una transformación económica, social y cultural del paisaje y de la vida de los habitantes de los valles del centro de Chile. El turismo enológico no sólo ha implicado costos sino también beneficios para las comunidades rurales tales como, mejoramiento en la infraestructura, más oferta de servicios comunitarios y mayores oportunidades laborales para todos los habitantes de la zona, en especial para los jóvenes. La presente investigación tiene como objetivos caracterizar la oferta creada por este tipo de turismo, conocer la percepción que tiene la comunidad del valle de Colchagua, Chile sobre los beneficios generados por el turismo, e identificar las oportunidades de empleo que brinda, especialmente, a los jóvenes y en qué condiciones. Entre los resultados más importantes destacan que el turismo enológico ha mejorado la oferta de servicios comunitarios para dar un mejor trato a los turistas y ha creado mayores oportunidades de empleo en la zona, aunque se detectan falencias en cuanto a la capacitación del personal que trabaja en el sector. En cuanto al empleo que ha generado en la zona, se puede establecer que las mujeres están asumiendo un rol importante. Además el estudio reporta que aunque los jóvenes cuentan con un contrato laboral y con otros beneficios, están a la espera de que sus condiciones laborales mejoren en el futuro.
Through the development of diverse wine routes in Chile, a varied offer of enologic tourism has been generated, which has translated into changes in the local communities, since, the arrival of tourists has provoked an economic, social and cultural transformation of the environment and the lives of the inhabitants of the valleys of the center of Chile. Enologic tourism has not only implied costs, but benefits as well for the rural communities, such as improvement in infrastructure, broader offer of community services and greater job opportunities for all the inhabitants of the area, especially for the younger population. This study has the objectives to characterize the offer created by this type of tourism, to document the perception that the community of the valley of Colchagua, Chile has of the benefits generated by this tourism, and to identify the job opportunities rendered, especially to young people, and in what conditions. Among the most important results detected by the study are that enologic tourism has improved the availability of community services to render better treatment to toursists and it has generated a greater offer of employment opportunities in the area, though we detect weaknesses in the preparation of the employees in the sector.Asto the employment, we were able to determine that women have assumed an important role, and that though young people have contracts and benefits, they still expect job conditions to improve in the future.
