The objective of this paper is to review the fundamental concepts, and their articulation, of Spinoza's metaphysics (1632-1677), mainly expressed in his Ethics. In a second part, a review will be made of the main criticisms of this metaphysics, giving a central role to the idealist reading that Hegel made and his critique. In a final section and as a corollary -and because we think it impossible to review the History of Philosophy without thinking on it, that is, without doing philosophy- a personal criticism is articulated in order to reach a new ontology that allows to correct the problems in which the Spinozist ontology was submerged (as was the traditional one).
