A competencia comunicativa intercultural (CCI), definida como a capacidade de interactuar de xeito efectivo con persoas doutras culturas, está adquirindo relevancia nun mundo cada vez máis globalizado. O obxectivo deste traballo é analizar a CCI do alumnado de Bacharelato para determinar o seu nivel de competencia e servir como ferramenta para a comunidade educativa. O instrumento empregado para o estudo é un cuestionario adaptado da Intercultural Communicative Competence Scale, que se aplicou nunha mostra de 52 estudantes do CPR Plurilingüe La Salle de Santiago de Compostela. A principal conclusión da investigación é que a CCI é máis elevada no alumnado capaz de recoñecer a existencia de discriminación cara a persoas doutras culturas. Non se atoparon diferenzas estatísticas significativas en canto ó sexo nin á exposición previa a outras culturas.
Intercultural communicative competence (ICC), defined as the ability to interact effectively with people from other cultures is gaining relevance in an increasingly globalized world. The aim of this paper is to analyze the ICC of upper secondary students to determine their level of competence and to serve as a tool for the education community. The instrument used for the study is a questionnaire adapted from the Intercultural Communicative Competence Scale, which was applied to a sample of 52 students from the CPR Plurilingüe La Salle in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The main finding of the investigation is that ICC is higher in students that are able to recognize the existence of discrimination against people from other cultures. No statistically significant differences were found regarding gender or previous exposure to other cultures.
