The following essay develops the notion of myth and its several interpretations as symbol and narrative, or an allegory of deeper and hidden meanings. Through an explanation that takes us closer to the context of mythical societies (if such thing is even possible), we aim to obtain some clues surrounding the origin of myth and its reason. Starting from classical Greece and concluding at the present times and the creation of new myths, we will discuss thinkers such as Mircea Eliade or Levy- Bruhl among others.
