La documentación de bienes culturales es una de las líneas de gestión del patrimonio de mayor utilidad e importancia. Sin embargo, su desarrollo inicial, desde mitad del siglo XIX hasta principios del XX, estuvo marcado por una serie de carencias de tipo económico y legislativo. En el presente artículo, tomando como referencia conceptual las herramientas existentes de documentación del patrimonio histórico (fichas, inventarios, catálogos…) se pretende mostrar desde un punto de vista histórico y documental, todo este desarrollo en la provincia de Alicante, con especial interés a las administraciones, instituciones y medidas que fueron cimentando esta labor.
The documentation of cultural heritage is one of the most useful and important lines of heritage management. However, its initial development, from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, was characterized by an economic and legislative deficiency. In this paper, considering as a conceptual reference the existing tools for the documentation of historical heritage (record cards, inventories, catalogues...), the purpose is to show, from a historical and documentary point of view, all this process in the province of Alicante, with special interest to the public administrations, organisations and measures that were establishing this work.
