The following work will address the metaethical aspect of the universal prescriptivism of English philosopher Richard Hare, with the objective of explaining how a particular position is configured around the judgments of duty, which is defined by its strong link with the motivation for action. The hypothesis that guides us is that the theoretical development in the plane of logic and the linguistic analysis of sentences within the framework of prescriptivist theory, have direct effects on our way of understanding the practical order, which on this occasion we analyze through the concept of duty. In this way, to fulfill our objective, we propose to analyze, in the first place, universal prescriptivism, focusing on the characteristic of prescriptiveness; then we will approach the topic of motivation and point out some characteristics of Hare's internalism; finally we will observe how these ideas conform the concept and judgments of duty.
