Electronic commerce is a booming activity. This affirmation is evident internationally, but in recent years is particularly notable in Latin America. However, there are elements that prevent today its takeoff and consolidation. One of them is the mistrust that prevails on Internet from the consumer and/or user. In the case of Latin America there have been created a considerable amount of self-discipline systems. In this research paper we have performed a theoretical analysis and an empirical study about this matter. To achieve it, we have used a sufficiently large sample of Latin American suppliers operating on the network. The results demonstrate the proven usefulness of such instruments.
