The evocation of memoirs that highlight nostalgia for a world that was both stable and ordered, only to then question whether this is just an illusion, is a way to present the idea that, for many, despite the fall of the Berlin Wall being undoubtedly worthy of celebration, it had represented the stability of a bipolar world and its collapse as paved the way for a new period of uncertainty and instability.
