En el s. VI, el emperador Justiniano, lleva a cabo importantes reformas con las que persigue mejorar la situación jurídica de la mujer incluso, en algunos casos, igualarla a la del hombre. Este es el caso de la reforma del régimen jurídico de las donaciones nupciales, cuya finalidad es su equiparación al de la dote, para, con ello, dar un trato igualitario a hombre y mujer. En esta investigación, nos centramos en el análisis de las constituciones en las que Justiniano establece este nuevo régimen jurídico, para así poder entender mejor su motivación y sus consecuencias.
In the 6Th Century, the Emperor Justinian, carries out important reforms in orther to improve the legal situation of women; even, in some cases, to level it with men. Nuptial donation is a clear example of these reforms. Justinian wants to level it to the dowry, showing his porpouse of leveling women and men rights. In this investigation, we focus on the analysis of the laws in which, Justinian, establishes this new legal regime for the nuptial donation, so as to bettter understand its motivation and its consequences.
