This work explores how the imaginaries of Afro-descendants are introduced in the arts of modernity in Venezuela, and reconstructs the elements that have defined a sort of iconic historiography of the black person in modern and contemporary art, focusing on the artist who makes his or her own history and the image of his or her permanent representation.
