El relato de la renovación del glifosato, el herbicida más empleado en el mundo, como ya sucediera en la aprobación de otro tipo de sustancias y productos químicos, como el tabaco, el amianto, etc., pone de manifiesto la falta de transparencia de este tipo de autorizaciones y renovaciones y permite introducir el debate sobre la responsabilidad de los órganos científicos asesores que desempeñan un rol protagonista en la identificación y evaluación de los riesgos, su gestión y comunicación. La metodología empleada en este estudio ha seguido el método de investigación clásico de búsqueda exhaustiva de fuentes bibliográficas: normativas, jurisprudenciales y doctrinales. A continuación, se ha procedido a su lectura y análisis, para posteriormente elaborar un ensayo de aproximación a la materia y finalizar, con una cuarta fase de cotejo y redacción definitiva. La finalidad de este trabajo es abordar la cuestión candente de la renovación del glifosato y si la pertinente evaluación desborda el ámbito de la ciencia regulatoria, lo que para su comprensión requiere de un análisis que incorpore al estudio jurídico, la narración de las iniciativas normativas, una perspectiva social y de ciencias no estrictamente jurídicas, como la toxicología

The story of the renewal of glyphosate, the most used herbicide in the world, as it happened in the approval of other substances and chemical products, such as tobacco, asbestos, etc., shows the lack of transparency of this type of authorizations and renewals and allows to introduce the discussion on the responsibility of the scientific advisory bodies that play a leading role in the identification and assessment of risks, their management and communication. The methodology used in this study has adopted the traditional research method consisting of an extensive search for bibliographic sources: regulation, jurisprudential and doctrinal. Then, it has proceeded to its reading and analysis, to later elaborate an approximation essay to the matter and end, with a fourth phase of collation and final editing. The aim of the present work is to address the burning issue of glyphosate renewal and if the relevant evaluation exceeds the field of regulatory science, which for its understanding requires an analysis that include legal study, the description of the legislative initiatives, a social and science focus not strictly legal, such as toxicology.
